I adore how genuinely kind you are
not in a loud or showy way
but in the quiet, consistent way you treat people

you are patient. you are thoughtful.

you choose positivity, even when you don’t have to.

you make the world feel lighter
because you always look for the good in it
and I think you always find it too

a favorite memory

one of my favorite memories was being snowed in at my apartment,
the night we built a fort and played overcoooked..
it was chaotic, competitive, involved a lot of yelling, and laugh until we couldn't breathe moments

it was not a big romantic moment,
but it was better

it felt like being a kid and getting to hang with my best friend again
with nowhere else to be and nothing to worry about.

a promise for the future

I honestly can’t promise too much —
(commitment issues yk)

but I can promise to keep beating you at Topgolf.
to keep yelling at you during games like it’s a championship round.
to overly correct your grammar, completely unprompted.
to keep teaching you things when you mess up.

I can promise to always try to be your best friend.
I can promise effort.

thank you for being patient with me.

for putting up with me through my stubborn moments,
my overthinking,
slow-to-open-up tendencies,
and my occasional attitude.

I know I don’t always show affection in big, dramatic ways.
